The Relic: First Guardian Flashes Souls-like Gameplay at Future Games Show

To announce The Relic: First Guardian as a Souls-like action RPG after the new Future Games Show 2024 trailer is akin to watching a cringe-worthy hotel advertisement — “Thanks, Captain Obvious.”

Details are precious few for the moment, but according to publisher Perp Games (Withering Rooms) and developer Project Cloud Games, both physical and digital copies are planned to release in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. In fact, we still have so much to learn about The Relic: First Guardian that, as of this writing, the system requirements for PC have yet to be shared.

What we do know is that fans of the Souls-like genre can expect five different weapon types with unique skills, a semi-open apocalyptic fantasy world, and a somewhat unique progression system involving runes, items, and crafting to strengthen your character.

The fate of the Arsiltus is now in your hands. In this action RPG, you embark on a heroic adventure to save the world in the dark as the last guardian. The once-prosperous Arsiltus was swallowed up by the void created by the destruction of the great relic and transformed into the land of death. Now your mission is to find the pieces of the broken great relic and close the void. You are the last hope of the Arsiltus. Start your journey as a guardian, gather pieces of great relic and close the void. Your adventure will bring Arsiltus into a new era.
